Rules and Clarifications

TUESDAY/THURSDAY GROUP RULES
1.When playing lift, clean and place if ball is in the fairway the ball may be placed within 1 club length or moved to the nearest grass if ball rests in bare or burnt-out areas of the fairway but in either case no closer to the hole. If ball rests in the rough the ball must be placed within 6″ of the original position to create an acceptable lie but in no case should the improved position result in relief from an obstruction such as base of tree or improved line of sight to the hole. There is no relief if the ball comes to rest in the red desert area.

2. There are no gimmies, all putts must be holed.

3. Players may play from the tee area of their preference. It is recommended that players opt to play from the tee that is challenging relative to their ability.

4. Players are responsible for posting their scores in the GHIN network. Posting should be done preferably on the day of play since weather conditions are factored into the handicap equation. Scores should be entered in GHIN on a hole-by-hole basis so that GHIN can make any needed adjustments to the score.
Postings include both home and away scores.

5. Entry fee for each round is $17. This may be changed from time to time as conditions may warrant. This entry fee per player is divided as follows: $9 for net play ($3 each for front, back and total), $3 for greenies and $5 for net skins.

6. One third of the field will be paid every round. All sweeps from the payouts will go into the “bank”. These monies are to be returned to the players via random tournaments or it may be disbursed, if approved by group consensus, for special needs situations which may arise.

7. Guests may compete if they have a current GHIN handicap. This would also include any new prospective member for the group.

8 . A “Steering Committee” will review and make recommendations to the group on suggestions, requests or complaints that may arise. These recommendations may be either accepted or rejected by a majority vote.

9. For payout purposes a player will be considered as a scratch golfer even though his actual handicap may be a plus.

10. A hole in one is an automatic skin i.e. it can’t be negated by a net one.
